

Dennis P. McCann was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1961.
Dennis studied painting througout his schooling, and was selected to represent his high school in the City of Chicago All-City Art program as a freshman, though the program was normally reserved for third and fourth year students. He later attended Thornton Community College, the University of Illinois and Governor's State University, and apprenticed for Andy Warhol.
His work has been featured in the Daily Calumet, Daily Southtown, Kankakee Journal, Manteno News, Chicago Sun-Times, Oak Park Journal, What Goes On, Unihaber, Sabah and Sanat Cevresi, and he has been the subject of two documentaries- "Dennis McCann, Artist," a film by Gerry Barajas, and "Dennis McCann: Portrait of an Artist," a film by Sohhyun Yi.
In 2004 Dennis began collaborating and exhibiting with Turkish artist Fatma Gulnar. Their paintings were shown in co-exhibits at the Turkish National Museum of Painting and Sculpture, The Turkish-American Association and Ankara University Sanat Evi (ANKUSEV), in Ankara, and made history as the first co-exhibits by a Turk and an American, in Turkey, in 70 years. Their collaborative works were the first ever by a Turkish Artist and an American Artist.
Fatma and Dennis married in 2005.
Works of the artist are found in museums, private collections and galleries throughout America and Europe.
The artist currently lives in Edirne.
